When I arrived late in Rome in the evening, the reception called me to check I was still arriving to ensure I didn't miss them for checking in, as the front desk closes at 11pm (once you are checked in of course you can come and go at any time of the day). I appreciated this as I can't think of a more stressful experience than showing up to a hotel and finding you're unable to check in, late at night. The staff that I spoke to were absolutely brilliant. One of the staff at the front desk, Islam, gave me excellent recommendations for where to eat, and helped me book the entry to a site I wanted to see (there are a number of tour operators and it's easy to book something you may end up paying more for than you need). Another staff member at the front desk, whose name I didn't get, helped me book a train ticket on to Naples, and took the time to look at the costs on different operators, at different times, and compare travel times etc. Both were fantastic. The room itself was quite large! It had a funny layout, I assume because it's an old building. The bed was just a single bed, but was totally comfortable and adequate as I was travelling solo. The decor is slightly dated, but I found that quite charming to be honest. The location is right in the heart of the old city, very close to lots of lovely bars, restaurants and cafes. Finding it is a slight challenge, as the streets of the old city are quite twisty and meander, and depending on which direction you come from you may end up having to go down quite narrow and unlikely alleys. That's just Rome! But I'd recommend making sure you have internet access on your phone to make finding your way there as painless as possible.

We loved the architecture, as well as the history of the building and the neighborhood. The location in the alley made for quiet atmosphere in our room, then at the opening of the alley was absolutely everything you wanted or needed - bodega, abundant cafes and restaurants, pharmacy, gelato, shops. All quality shops, no cheap tourist traps. XXX IV was our go-to for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. We really felt we had immersed ourselves with the locals - always our goal when we travel. Our room and the common areas were spotless and pest free. The bed was very cozy. The staff met every need and special request. We were within walking distance of Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, and the popular spots around the Colosseum. Despite only being the end of April, every place was extremely crowded. We always appreciated coming back to the hotel and surrounding area. So, yes, we liked our stay!

I wish it was prominent that there is no elevator. I had booked a superior single room with a balcony and a view but that room was on the 4th FL without an elevator. I have replaced knees. So I was given a room on the 2nd FL with no change in cost. Breakfast is served in your room so you don't get to meet other guests. It is a good location to enable seeing sites near that area. It is very clean and the staff is helpful, but the front desk is not open 11 pm to 7 am. I had to leave at 5 am and they booked me a taxi which was prompt and very good service. The hotel also gave me breakfast the evening before that I kept in the small fridge in the room. That was very nice and helped in the am with my early departure.

I loved my stay at Teatro Pace! I had a super cute single room which was ideal for a solo traveller. The location is great next to Piazza Navona, tons of restaurants within a 2 minute walk including an excellent pizza slice place right at the end of the street. Very easy to walk to the major sights of Rome. The street is quiet at night and I felt safe walking around after dark The balcony is lovely and had a great view over the rooftops with birds chirping in the morning. Super comfortable bed and pillows, clean towels and hot shower. Highly recommend, especially for female solo travellers.

The hotel is very well situated, in a great area with lots of shops, restaurants and cafe/bars and an easy walk to many sites. The room (a superior single with balcony) was compact but was enough for a three day stay. It was clean and equipped with the basics. As someone traveling alone I felt safe and well situated. Breakfast wasn’t included in my booking but the hotel reception kindly recommended a nearby cafe which opens early and offers great coffee and a good selection of breakfast options.
